Privacy notice

This page explains what happens to your email address when you request access to the Maia OS private alpha.

Who is responsible

The controller is vllnt. Contact: hello@vllnt.com.

What we collect

When you request access we store:

  • your email address
  • the time you signed up
  • the version of the consent wording you agreed to
  • the domain of the website that sent you here, when your browser reports one. We keep only the domain, never the full address of the page.

We store nothing else. To stop repeated posts, the server also holds your IP address in memory for a short time. It is never written to the database. See the section on why we use your data.

Why we use it

We use your data for three purposes only:

  • To contact you about your request for the Maia OS private alpha and about Maia Cloud, which is planned, and its launch. The legal basis is your consent, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, which you give with the checkbox on the form.
  • To learn which channels bring people to the waitlist, from the referring site's domain. The legal basis is our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, in knowing which channels work. You can object to this at any time.
  • To prevent abuse of the form by limiting repeated posts. The server keeps your IP address in memory for about 10 minutes, or for IPv6 the network part of it, and never writes it to the database. The legal basis is our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, in keeping the form from being flooded. You can object to this at any time.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and does not track you. It loads nothing from other websites.

Who receives it

Nobody outside vllnt and our hosting provider, OVH SAS, which stores it on our behalf. We do not sell your data and we share it with no one else.

Where it is stored

On infrastructure operated by OVH SAS.

How long we keep it

We delete your data at the latest 12 months after you sign up, or earlier if you ask. Backup copies expire within 30 days. Your IP address leaves the server's memory after about 10 minutes: a cleanup task runs every 30 seconds and removes the entries that have run out, and a restart empties the memory at once.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for:

  • access to your data
  • rectification of your data
  • erasure of your data
  • restriction of how we use it
  • objection to processing based on our legitimate interest
  • portability of your data
  • withdrawal of your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before

To use any of these rights, write to hello@vllnt.com.

Complaints

You can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority: www.cnil.fr.
